- The annual dues of this association shall be $18
plus the current NGA Handicap Service fee. After August 1, the
dues for the remainder of the year shall be $8 plus the current NGA
Handicap Service fee. The NGA Handicap Service fee entitles the member
to either the 9-Hole Handicap Service OR the 18-Hole Handicap Service
with the USGA Golf Handicap & Information Network (GHIN).

Junior GHIN membership dues
shall be $5 plus the current NGA Junior Handicap Service fee.
- The association's newsletter called Golfabout shall
be sent to all paid members a minimum of three times a year.
- Weekly tee times at the public golf courses will
be requested from the City of Lincoln's Parks and Recreation
Department each year.
O For
morning play, the days, locations, and tee times are:
Monday = Mahoney Golf Course
Tuesday = Holmes Golf Course
Thursday = Pioneers Golf Course
Friday = Highlands Golf Course
(18-hole players will tee off first followed by the 9-hole players.)
The tee times are dependent on the time of year:
APRIL = 10 a.m.
MAY = 9 a.m.
JUNE, JULY, AUGUST = 8:30 a.m.
SEPTEMBER = 9 a.m.
OCTOBER = 10 a.m.
(The 9-hole players will tee off approximately 15-30 minutes later.)
O For
afternoon or evening play, the days and locations are:
Monday = Pioneers Golf Course
Tuesday = Holmes Golf Course
Wednesday =
Highlands Golf Course
Thursday =
Mahoney Golf Course
The official tee times are reserved with Parks and Rec during the off
season. We try to get tee times somewhere between 4:00 and 6:15 p.m.
and vary them among the days. Because of the demand for league play
on the city courses, these times can change from year to year. Please check with the coordinators of the evening leagues or
call the associated golf course for information regarding evening tee
times.
The
USGA GHIN golf season in Nebraska usually runs from March through
October.
- The LWMGA will host various special events throughout the season. All events are dependent upon participation and
may be canceled due to low interest. The Club Championship will be
coordinated by the Executive Board. All other special events will be
coordinated by the Executive Board or appointed chairwomen.
- The LWMGA Club Championship is open to all
current LWMGA members with an established USGA handicap. There are two
divisions of the Club Championship Tournament:
a 9-hole division and an 18-hole division. A minimum of ten
participants is needed to have a division. To enter the Club
Championship, the following rules will be observed:
a.
Your GHIN handicap must be established through your LWMGA membership.
b.
If you wish to play in the 18-hole division, your established 18-hole
handicap index will be used. If you only have an established 9-hole
handicap index, your 18-hole handicap index will be determined by doubling
your 9-hole handicap index.
c.
If you wish to play in the 9-hole division, your established 9-hole
handicap index will be used. If you only have an established 18-hole
handicap index, your 9-hole handicap index will be determined by halving
your 18-hole handicap index.
The
LWMGA Handicap Chairwoman shall validate and provide the most current
handicap for each participant in the event.
The
tournament will be a two-day event. It will be held on a Friday and
Saturday. If the days are to change, it must be decided no later than the
fall association meeting so the dates can be reserved in January with the
City Parks & Rec.
O DEFINITIONS:
Gross Score = Total number of strokes.
Net Score = Total number of strokes minus handicap.
The Club Champion will be the 18-hole player with the lowest 2-day
total gross score.
(The Club Champion may come from any flight.
In the event of a
tie for Club Champion, there will be a sudden death play-off.)
The 18-Hole Low Net Champion will be the 18-hole player with the
lowest 2-day total net score.
(The 18-Hole Low Net Champion may come from any flight.
A tie
will be broken by a card play-off.)
The 18-Hole
Senior Low Net Champion will be the 18-hole player age 60 or over with the
lowest 2-day total net score.
(The 18-Hole Senior Low Net Champion may come from any flight.
A tie
will be broken by a card play-off.)
The 9-Hole Winner will be the 9-hole player with the lowest
2-day total gross score.
(The 9-Hole Winner may come from any flight within the 9-hole Division.
Ties will be broken by a card play-off.)
Based on the number of participants, an additional achievement may be
awarded:
The 9-Hole Low Net Champion will be the 9-hole player with the
lowest 2-day total net score.
(The 9-Hole Low Net Champion may come from any 9-hole Division flight.
Ties will be broken by a card play-off.)
O TOURNAMENT
FORMAT:
18-Hole Division
Number of flights will be determined according to the number of
participants.
Flights will be labeled 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.
At least three places will be awarded in each flight.
Ties within flights will be broken by card play-offs.
Participants will be flighted by handicap index prior to the start of the
tournament.
If the range of handicap indices within any flight is less than 5, the
winner of that flight will be the player with the lowest 2-day total GROSS
score, OR else the winner of that flight will be the player with the
lowest 2-day total NET score.
9-Hole
Division
Number of
flights will be determined according to the number of participants.
Flights will be labeled 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.
At least three places will be awarded in each flight.
Ties within flights will be broken by card play-offs.
Participants will be flighted by handicap index prior to the start of the
tournament.

Rules will apply (play ball up in fairway).

prizes are optional.
O CARD
PLAY-OFF FOR DETERMINING FLIGHT WINNERS:
For the two-day event, total each player's scores for the four most
difficult holes each day (based on the course handicap). The lowest total
for those eight holes will be declared the winner.
- The LWMGA shall join the Nebraska Women's Amateur
Golf Association by paying their annual club membership dues. This
entitles our club to representation on the NWAGA Board of Directors. A
NWAGA Board Representative and one alternate shall be appointed by the
President of LWMGA.
- The association shall give a paid membership to
the President at the start of her term in appreciation for her time
and energy.

The LWMGA Hole-in-One Plaque
shall be engraved with the name of any LWMGA member who has a hole in
one on a city-owned course. The engraving shall consist of the
member's name, the course, the date, and the hole number.
- The Standing Rules may be amended or suspended at
any association meeting by a majority vote. No prior notice is needed
to take action.

The duties of the officers and committee
chairwomen are as follows:
PRESIDENT
Schedule and
preside at all meetings; be an administrative officer.
Set dates and make application to the City Parks & Rec. Dept. for
tournament dates and weekly tee times.
Work with the pros at the golf courses.
Establish and invoke a calling committee when needed.
Review the Constitution and the Standing Rules for any necessary changes.
PRESIDENT-ELECT
Perform
duties of the President in her absence.
Chairwoman for the Lincoln Junior Girls’ City Golf Tournament
(invitations, prizes, etc.)
Coordinate, advise, and distribute funds to the Weekly Event Chairwomen.
SECRETARY
Take minutes
of all meetings.
TREASURER
Collect
membership dues.
Preside at budget meetings.
Pay all bills as approved.
Keep accurate account of receipts and disbursements.
Make financial reports at meetings.
Be liaison with the Secretary, Membership Chairwoman, and Handicap
Chairwoman.
COMMITTEE CHAIRWOMEN
Each
chairwoman is responsible for appointing her own committee members as she
deems necessary, with the exception of the Handicap Chairwoman. When applicable, each chairwoman is responsible for her
own plans, prizes, publicity (including notifying newspapers and LWMGA
Membership chair for the GOLFABOUT), iced tea, etc., publishing the
rules and posting winners. Specific duties are as follows:
--Handicap (9 & 18)
Send scores
to USGA GHIN a minimum of every two weeks.
Post USGA GHIN Handicap labels at the golf courses every revision period.
Provide & validate handicaps for the Club Championship event.
The Handicap Committee shall consist of the current LWMGA Executive Board.
This committee shall follow the duties and responsibilities as written in
the USGA Handicap Systems Manual.
--Daily Play
(9 & 18)
Schedule and
post all weekly events for the season.
Post winners of these events so they may pick up their prizes.
Maintain a birdie, eagle, and chip-in record.
Coordinate morning/evening golf play.
Set up a tournament if so desired by this group.
--Membership
Keep an
updated record of the name, address, zip code, and phone number of all
members.
Work directly with the Treasurer and Handicap Chairwoman to establish and
maintain an updated roster.
Prepare "Welcome Packet" for new members.
Compile and distribute the GOLFABOUT newsletter.
Mail the roster with the May issue of the GOLFABOUT.
--Special
Events
These events
will be determined and scheduled by the Executive Board on a yearly basis
and chairwomen will be appointed accordingly.
--Couples' Golf
Organize the
Couples' Golf program.
Determine day of play, starting time, type of competition and prizes.
Oversee the Annual Couples' Golf Tournament.
Women in the Couples' Golf program must be members of LWMGA.
--Historian
Maintain the
LWMGA scrapbook.
--NWAGA
Representative
Represent
LWMGA at NWAGA state meetings.
